Weekly Update:

  • Lawyer Bao Longjun包龍軍律師: (1) Suspected crime is “inciting subversion of state power” and “picking quarrels and provoking troubles”, he is under residential surveillance at designated location. (2) The officer of the investigation team said that they have sent notice to Bao Longjun’s family, but Bao’s parents denied receiving any notice. (3) Lawyers' requests of meeting with Bao have been denied.
  • Lawyer Wang Quanzhang王全璋律師: His wife and sister sent a letter to Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun.
  • Lawyer Sui Muqing隋牧青律師: It has been 15 days since his lawyers submitted an application to meet him but no reply was received so far.  
  • Lawyer Xie Yang謝陽律師: Hunan Police’s reply: (1) Will not change the compulsory criminal measures (His lawyer applied for bail, but was rejected); (2) The police don’t know the facts of the case so they cannot describe it to the lawyers; (3) The police can forward the letters from lawyers and family; (4) There is a task force of more than 40 officers handling the case, the police promise that they will not torture Xie Yang.
